DATA Mentors Wanted for 2009-2010 School Year

The Design and Technology Academy (DATA) is looking for adults interested in becoming a mentor to high school juniors.  DATA is a California Partnership Academy funded through the California Department of Education.  Students are in the program for four years throughout their high school years and major in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Architectural/Environmental Design.

As part of our funding we are required to implement a mentoring program for our students in the 11th grade and will begin the program next fall.

Each mentor will be paired up with two to four juniors and communication will be primarily through email.   We are planning on having a kick off meeting in September where mentors will be able to meet with their mentees.   The program will run from September, 2009 to May, 2010.   

Please let me know if you  or someone you know who would be interested in working with our mentoring program next year.   We are looking for 20-30 mentors.  Thanks for your help.
